John Goodman is an American actor and comedian. He is well known for his dramatic roles. He is best known for playing Dan Conner on the television series Roseanne, and for this he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in 1993.He was born on 20 June, 1952.

He has been following weight loss strategies since many years. He always hopes to lose more weight. John Goodman weight loss training worked a lot and he lost significant amount of weight, enough to make him look younger.

He did a lot of exercise to lose weight. He said that He felt great while doing exercise and any other things for losing weight. Furthermore he said, it is going to be an ongoing process for the rest of my life.

After losing weight he looks much young and handsome than ever before. He has transformed his body completely and surprised his viewer with his new looks. In answer to an interview question which asked him what was his motivation and what made him drop off pounds? He responded by saying the idea of losing weight is not new to me, I always remains at back of my mind. This time I started to carry out that idea of losing weight and will continue to lose weight in future. In addition he said, “I enjoy doing exercise”.

He told the reason behind putting on to much weight which is his habit of eating too much. Furthermore he told another reason for choosing weight loss strategy that He did a movie name Santa Clause, when he looked himself in that movie he was not happy and satisfied with how he was looking in that movie, so he decided to lose weight. Secondly he was alcoholic which he considered played its role in his being fat.
He told that he went to a man named Mackie Shilstone in New Orleans, and chose him as his fitness guru. His fitness guru as he said was best choice he could ever make because he trains Serena Williams as well. He has also trained many boxers.
He setup a program with his fitness master to lose weight medically.

He first lost about 70 pounds and went to Germany to do another movie, but he did not abandon drinking, and he was still drinking. But side by side he was working out during this time. He has got arthritis because of which his knees were shot that’s why he needed them to be replaced. So He got on an elliptical machine and a recumbent bike. He just started working out but did not leave other things like drinking and eating everything that made him fat.


When he was asked about his trainer he replied, ”He is a pretty solid guy. Probably he is the smallest football player who ever played for Tulane.  He might be 5’8″. Maybe he is 100. I’m not good at guessing weight. Or I would be in a carnival. I am in a carnival anyway. But he is just a walking encyclopedia. I do not know why he does not have a doctorate as he is up on everything to do whether it medical advancements, vitamins or nutrition. He has got it all. It is like talking to a computer when you talk to him.”
Furthermore he told that his fitness trainer has got a system in New Orleans in association with East Jefferson Hospital, where there are doctors, a nutritionist and trainers.

He did a lot of cardio at home. He did 40 minutes of cardio in the morning and 40 in the afternoon.

He could only do the elliptical and the recumbent bike. He used to walk a lot. But the knees kicked in because of arthritis but still he loved to walk.

He did mixed cardio, strength training with resistance bands. He told that as he could contract and release slower, that builds up better muscle for him. He did boxing twice a week. He was also doing a job in New Orleans twice a week called Treme. He worked couple of days a week and treated his weight loss plan as a job so as to get rid of extra weight and stay healthy.

Boxing training:

He got himself trained for boxing from a man named Axel Murillo, and he used to do  12 rounds there. At that time he was built up to 2 minutes and 15 seconds of throwing punches and a minute of rest, which is equal to 1 round. He used to do boxing twice a week.
