Flu is one of the things that brings cough, but wherever you find flu and cough you find swollen lymph nodes, which are usually painful and annoying.

Most of the time, when people feel their chest aching they just rush in to take medicines, but medicines are not the only solution for flu and cough, There are some home remedies for cough that can relief you and stop the aching in your chest.

Home remedies for cough:

  1. Turmeric:
    Turmeric has been used for many years widely in India and china as a treatment for cough and flu, particularly for dry cough. Turmeric is antibacterial and anti-viral which is why it’s a very famous natural home remedy, I really think you should try it, all you need is:
  2. One teaspoon of turmeric powder.
  3. One teaspoon of black pepper.
  4. One cup of boiling water.
  5. Make sure you drink that mixture daily until your condition improves.

2.Ginger:
Ginger is a very popular food especially in Asia,it has been used for years to soothe coughing especially those caused by cold and flu, also ginger is available for everyone, easy to get and it is very relieving as it contains antioxidants and oleoresin. Oleoresin in fact has antitussive abilities, which is very relieving for your aching chest and it makes the cough goes away immediately. So all you have to do is:

  1. Cut some fresh ginger into small pieces.
  2. Crush those small pieces lightly.
  3. Put it into a cup of water.
  4. Boil it.

For immediate relief drink this herbal solution three or four times per a day and trust me it will make the cough goes away.

    Onion is one of the simplest and easiest home remedy for cough, you know that strong vapor which makes you cry the minute you start chopping an onion, this vapor is the solution for your cough. This home remedy is much known in Spain and France, it is very helpful, all you have to do is to cut one onion into four quarters and put it in a plate beside your bed.
    Although some people think that this way is just an old tale way, there are some other ways that can be very useful too, you can combine one-half teaspoon of onion juice with one teaspoon of honey and swallow it twice a day, It will surely make a difference.

    Thyme is an old traditional German treatment; it is very useful for cough, upper respiratory infections and bronchitis, it also reduces inflammation, and will make the ache in your chest goes away. Those tiny leaves can do magic, all you have to do is:
  • Mix two teaspoon of leaves with one cup boiling water.
  • Steep for 10 minutes while covering it.
  • Strain it then drink.

    Garlic has been used since ancient times, it has been proved that garlic is a very useful and popular treatment. Taking garlic after you already have a cough won’t probably help you that much, but taking it as prevention will protect your body from any infection including coughing.If you already have cough you can try having garlic, as there are some doctors say garlic can help as it has both antibacterial and antimicrobial components that treat cough, I say you will not lose anything if you give it a try.

    Lemon is a very useful home remedy for cough, it has been used for so many years and it can be used in many different ways.In fact, lemon is very high in vitamin-c which is a very important vitamin to your body as it helps you get animmune system.Lemons also have very strong antibacterial and antiviral properties, you can also add honey to lemon; honey can work as a very powerful antibacterial and antiviral. The mixture of honey and lemon is a traditional cure for cough, you should try it.
